Creating a dynamic ecosystem where players and investors come together
To match its vision, Metacade needed a digital presence as immersive and forward-thinking as the brand itself. The challenge was to craft a seamless experience that unified its diverse offerings, competitive tournaments, AI-driven agents, content creation, and investment opportunities, while ensuring effortless navigation for both gamers and crypto enthusiasts.
Our approach was to elevate Metacade's brand with a bold and unique design that reinforced its status as a next-generation gaming hub. Every element, from high-energy visuals to intuitive user flows, was designed to maximise engagement.
The results
The final product is more than just a website, it's a high-performance ecosystem that captures the pulse of web3 gaming from the very first interaction. Metacade's new platform doesn't just inform; it invites users to dive in, participate, and become part of the movement. With an electrifying fusion of design and functionality, the new brand, website and products not only amplifies Metacade's presence but also subtly redefines its brand direction, ensuring it stands out as a dominant force in web3 gaming.
The city of Metacadia
We began our design process by coming up with a unique concept that was built around the companies core offerings, otherwise known as the Metacade quarters. Their flagship game "Gangs Of Metacadia", a game about 5 gangs all fighting for control of the city, also inspired our final concept, an interactive 3D city.
This virtual city allows users to navigate and explore the four key areas of Metacade's ecosystem. Given that Metacade's target audience spans multiple demographics, we needed an intuitive way for users to grasp its offerings quickly and identify the quarter most relevant to them. The city concept effectively achieved this.
Leveling up against the competition
A strong token design is essential for any crypto project looking to differentiate itself. With the introduction of the 3D city, we extended this visual direction to develop a new 3D token design, ensuring a consistent and standout identity across the website and social media.
Short copy, impactful visual assets
Having short and to the point copy across the site was also essential for the Metacade team. So for us it was important to create visual assets that backed up the key points. We designed each asset in Figma and animated each one inside the browser for more control and flexibility.

Building with performance in mind, right from the start
A lot of the site relies on animated and 3D web technology that can be taxing on some less powerful devices. We weren't prepared to simply fallback to static images. Instead, we built all our assets with performance in mind so that they could all run smoothly across all devices without impacting the overall user experience.
Expanding the Metacade ecosystem beyond the website
Once the website was complete, we began rolling the refreshed brand across Metacade's existing products while also designing and building new ones from scratch. This helped grow the wider Metacade ecosystem into a more connected platform, bringing together profile areas, leaderboards, XP systems, onchain gaming, and AI agent integrations.
Each new touchpoint was designed to feel like a natural extension of the brand while giving users more reasons to engage, compete, and explore. As the platform evolved, so did our role. We became a trusted design and build partner for Russell and the Metacade team, working alongside them for nearly two years and continuing to support them as it pushes further into web3 gaming and AI.
Creating a centrepiece for the Metacade Arcade
One of our favourite parts of working on Metacade has been the opportunity to build playful, self-contained experiences that add more life to the wider platform. We first helped create the Metacade Arcade, a place where users could play games and earn crystals as part of the wider XP system.
The arcade was initially populated with games from a third-party library, but Metacade wanted its own branded game to sit at the centre of the experience. We designed and built it from scratch with expansion in mind, making sure it could be played by both human users and AI agents.
The result was an endless runner featuring Metacade's brand mascot, Max, flying through the city of Metacadia with a jetpack, avoiding obstacles and collecting power-ups and crystals along the way. It was a small but memorable way to bring the brand world to life, turning the wider Metacade universe into something users could actively play, compete with, and return to.
Smaller projects like this have made working with Metacade especially rewarding. They have allowed us to push the brand beyond static touchpoints, creating interactive moments that feel fun, memorable, and deeply connected to the world the team is building.
